As a CUK Machine Operator, your duties will include:

  • Accurately repairing and machining turbine components.
  • Adjusting the fixtures on the machining equipment to promote quality repairs.
  • Setting and operating both manual and CNC machines.
  • Setting and operating EDM machines.
  • Checking and inspecting your own work in accordance to the relevant SDC.
  • Ensure working stations are clean.
  • Accurately interpret drawings and documents to conform to SDC instructions.
  • Understanding and always conforming to CUK Health & Safety requirements.
  • Understanding route sheet discipline.
  • Ensuring that management are informed of any problems or discrepancies as they arise.
  • Liaising with colleagues at shift change to ensure a smooth hand over of work.
  • Understanding and following CUK guidelines and observing all CUK policies.
  • Any other duties that may be required by the Company.

Full level Engineering Technician apprenticeship standard

Including Functional Skills if required

You will work with expert assessors to develop new knowledge, skills and behaviours within the Engineering profession.

You will gather all learning evidence, journals and off-the-job records using your e-portfolio (OneFile).

At the end of the planned learning period, you along with your employer and training provider will agree that you have completed all learning elements and are ready to enter 'Gateway' and for your End Point Assessment to be arranged.
