The Candidate will need to be able to carry out the following duties after completing training:

  • Receive goods in and out and ensure items are put in the correct bins accurately and counted out accurately
  • Measure and cut off hose accurately to length
  • Swage Hydraulic ends onto hoses and package and wrap neatly
  • Operate a fork lift truck
  • Operate a heat Shrink / wrap machine
  • Operate a hose coiler machine
  • Cross check items that have been packed into boxes
  • Assemble Hydraulic fittings
  • Serve customers at the trade counter and be able to recognise items they require from samples
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area and follow company Health and Safety Procedures

Level 2 Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Apprenticeship Standard. 

Functional Skills in maths and English (if required). 

As a Warehouse Operative, your duties will include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock by various methods, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, maintaining stock records, documentation and cleaning.

This apprenticeship also involves understanding how to use basic IT, including barcoding, data capture, radio and warehousing management software and systems. You will gain an understanding of how to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers, third party carriers and other organisations.

You will learn how to use warehouse equipment, machinery and vehicles, including mechanical racking systems and materials handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet trucks.

The apprenticeship will take a minimum of 12 months to complete prior to taking the end-point assessment.
