An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to work for H.H Plastics, based in Walsall. Training will be given in all aspects of the manufacture of flexible packaging.
The Apprentice will play an important team role in the day to day manufacturing of flexible packaging and the organisation and smooth running of a team enviroment, to ensure all financial and business objectives are met.
Duties to include:
- Manual handling
- Lifting heavy goods
- Clear understanding of both written and verbal instruction
- High level of numeracy
- Operation of bag machinery

- Adherence to safe working procedures
- Time keeping
- Conscientious member of the team
- Consistent compliance with policy and procedure (in particular reference to Health and Safety)
- Compliance with company values and relevant level of the competency framework
- Positive approach to covering other roles within the department
- Flexible approach to working hours
Grade A*-C/4 or above in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent qualifications.
There is a very strong possibility of a full-time role at the end of the apprenticeship.
Things to consider
This is a factory environment; candidates must be responsible for wearing and keeping clean Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times. The post holder may be required to carry out other duties as requested by management; however, these will not be unreasonable and will be appropriate to the level of post. Apprentices would be working in a factory environment as a Bag Machine Operator.
