We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to learn the traditional skill of artisan butchery and join our award-winning team here at Darts Farm.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Level 2 (GCSE)
To start off, you’ll predominately be in the production side of the butchery, learning about all of the different cuts of meat and discovering where they come from on different animals.
You’ll be expected to help out with the daily running of the butchery including:
- Sausage making
- Packing meat
- Preparing online orders
- General cleaning duties

You will have the ability to multi-task and prioritise your responsibilities, have a practical, can-do attitude and the initiative to self-motivate within a dynamic team and fast-paced environment. As your knowledge and skills develop, so will the role!
Requirements and prospects
- Deliver customer service to a high standard
- Good communication skills
- Clean and tidy appearance
- Confident with customers
- GCSEs in the A*-E or 9–3 range or equivalent
Individual employers will set the selection criteria for the applicant. Employers who recruit candidates without English and maths at GCSE (or equivalent) Grade D/3 (or Functional Skills Level 1) or above must ensure that the candidate achieves this level before the apprenticeship standard can be awarded to the individual.
Potential to secure a full-time position as a qualified butcher on completion of your apprenticeship and continue to develop your skills and career.
