Fantastic opportunity for someone who is ready to learn all aspects of the hair industry with expert advice from the salons amazing stylists who understand the hair world inside and out! You will be shampooing hair daily and eventually build up your skills to become a part of the team.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Shampooing hair
  • Conditioning hair
  • Reception duties
  • Serving refreshments
  • Offering the best customer service possible
  • Completing all NVQ units
  • Arranging models for your NVQ assessments
  • Assisting the stylists daily
  • Salon cleaning
  • Vetting customers as they walk in the door
  • Ensuring all services are sanitised
  • Being responsible for logging off the job training hours on one file portfolio

Future prospects

On successful completion of Level 2 Hairdressing, there may be the opportunity to progress onto Level 2 customer service followed by Level 3 Hairdressing and a good training program. 

Things to consider

Applicants must have a realistic idea of what it is like to work as an apprentice in the Hairdressing industry and must be willing to help out with the less glamorous tasks such as cleaning! Please be aware that when working as a Hairdressing apprentice part of your daily jobs will be to clean and tidy the salon.

There will be some long periods of standing. Applicants also need to ensure that they are willing to work Saturdays and at least one late evening before applying for the position as this is a requirement when working in the Hairdressing industry.
