Working under the direction and guidance of an experienced tradesperson to become proficient in building Dry lining systems and gain the relevant qualifications to meet the guidelines and achieve the Level 2 apprenticeship standard.

Assist mentor in constructing Dry lining (walls) and suspended ceilings and other general duties. Ensure all tasks on site are carried out in line with manufacturers’ specifications, architects’ drawings, Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.

As this is an apprenticeship role, a key requirement is that you attend college on a day release basis and complete all course work / work-based assignments and assessments in the workplace.  To this end you will be enrolled at a college and you will study for L2 Construction Specialist – (Interior Systems) Apprenticeship Standard.

Duties will include:

  • Install plasterboard partitions in accordance with specification & manufacturer’s instructions
  • Measure and mark out interior systems projects in accordance with industry standards
  • Interpret drawings to ensure work is completed to specification
  • Complete quality assurance checks in accordance with specification to enable handover in line with site procedures
  • Install and repair metal stud partitions according to/in accordance with design details, specification, manufacturer's recommendations, and best practice guidelines
  • Form framed and frame-less beam and column in accordance with specification & manufacturer's instructions
  • Form junctions, abutments, and angles according to specification & manufacturer's instructions
