Skytech Solutions is an e-commerce retailer based in Digbeth, Birmingham. We are a young, vibrant company who is rapidly growing and looking for positive, enthusiastic, performance-driven individuals to join our team of experienced computer repair technicians.
For this role we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Computer Repair Technician apprentice.
Once fully trained, you will be able to:
- Build computers
- Diagnose problems
- Repair and install operating systems and other software’s configurations
As a part of our team, you’ll also be involved in supporting our business by undertaking other duties as a part of your training, such as:
- Checking stock in
- Logging new stock on to our system
- Testing computers and components
Requirements and prospects
- Excellent customer service and team work skills
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written and telephone
- High level of IT literacy
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines
- Effective time management skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- An interest in computer repair – any kind of previous experience would be beneficial
- Well organised
- Positive attitude towards work
- GCSE (or equivalent) Grade C (4) or above in both English & maths or Functional Skills Level 2 in both English & maths
Can lead to full-time employment after successfully completing apprenticeship.

The business is based in a warehouse environment and it can get cold during the winter months.

Since 2007, the WEEE directive has stated that all redundant computer equipment is classed as E waste. It also states that CRT monitors are classed as hazardous waste, therefore, the recycler you use must be fully licensed with the Environment Agency in order to be able to handle this equipment and be fully compliant with the WEEE Regulations. Companies that collect waste must be registered waste carriers and their site must have an environmental permit or an appropriate registered exemption.
