his is an exciting expansive role that lends itself to someone looking to develop their skills in both working within a Team and developing software. The successful candidate will be expected to interact and assist the operational business users of the software program, by providing fixes to bugs & error codes, as well as contributing to the development and maintenance of software running on a variety of platforms, a flexible, pragmatic, adaptable approach and the ability to learn new skills quickly are essential.

You will be a well organised, methodical personality who can confidently liaise with all levels of staff to ensure that you have a rounded understanding of how the business currently operates and how the programs you are designing will enhance or replace existing manual processes and procedures to make the business more efficient. Support and training will be providing within the job role for the Apprentice.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with all operators of program to resolve queries, bugs, and fixes – providing Helpdesk support
  • Learn program and devise and develop software additional modules and tasks that will enhance or replace existing manual processes and procedures
  • Carrying out specific projects and research
  • Create instructions for maintaining, operating, and upgrading any developed software programs developed
  • Assist with training task for users
  • Ensure any programs and data is backed up on a daily basis to the main server

Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Information Communications Technician: Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours as defined by the standard.

To support the knowledge required for this apprenticeship, a series of remote learning modules and/or workshops will need to be completed. Knowledge modules will typically cover:

  • Networking and Architecture,
  • Coding & Logic
  • Cloud Services 
  • Mobile and Operating Systems 
  • Business Processes

Although not mandatory, it is recommended that apprentices complete these to ensure that they gain the knowledge required for them to successfully complete their apprenticeship End Point Assessment. 

Learning workshops currently take place at our Leamington site.
