As a service administrator you will be responsible for liaising with our service, parts, and administrative teams, as well as being a front-line member or our customer-facing team. Flexibility and long-term commitment are an essential requisite. The right candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to plan workloads for themselves and others as well as present the company in a highly professional manner.

As part of the Windsor Materials Handling family, you will be involved with a wide variety of MHE, access, floor cleaning, warehouse, and other specialist product. Whatever the customer needs, forklifts, warehouse equipment access or specialist kit- we provide the highest quality support via teams of skilled local materials handling technicians. Responsibilities will include:

  • Use bespoke IT systems
  • Providing Admin support to the sales team, including client support, production of Quotes and Customer and sales management reports
  • Complete Invoice runs, delivery notes and Purchase Orders and maintenance a detailed & accurate accounting system
  • Providing excellent office administration services and administrative support to the team, working in partnership with your colleagues
  • Assisting the team regarding meeting preparations, travel organisation and expenses
  • Liaising with Management supporting the HR, Finance, and ICT Departments
  • Acting as the first point of contact, maintaining office supplies, liaising with third parties, and ensuring office is compliant with Health and Safety requirements

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in IT would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Very good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Word, and Excel
  • Preference for experience of working within an industrial equipment environment (desirable)
  • Proactive personality with excellent customer service and communication skills, ideally with prior work experience in an administrative customer service role

  • As part of the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard, you will learn the knowledge, skills, and behaviours which will support you for your end-point assessment. You will take part in a combination of activities, such as face-to-face classroom-based sessions, remote learning sessions, work shadowing and online learning, to support your learning and development and compile a portfolio of evidence
  • The successful candidate will be required to undertake training sessions with Avant Skills Academy throughout the length of the apprenticeship. If you have not achieved GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English, you will be required to complete Functional Skills Level 2 in English and maths


  • Apprenticeships are about upskilling and reaching occupational competency takes time. Many employers and apprentices have praised the positive effect off-the-job training has on their productivity and apprentices feel valued by the significant investment in their training
  • All off-the-job training must be relevant to the Apprenticeship Standard being undertaken. Your off-the-job training will be agreed with your employer and Avant before you commence your programme

End-Point Assessment (EPA):

  • At the end of the on-programme learning, you will be required to undertake an End-Point Assessment to demonstrate you have met the occupational standard
