Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for infection control procedures, setting up and preparing the dental surgery at the start of the day, managing infection control between patients and closing at the end of the day, including cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment
  • Assisting dental procedures including mixing dental materials, pass instruments, processing x-rays and ensuring the patients are looked after
  • Accurately complete patient clinical records
  • Offer information and support to individuals on protection of oral health
  • Comply with Health and Safety legislation
  • Undergo training as required to develop skills and abilities
  • Act in accordance with the practice rules and code of conduct
  • Assisting with our reception team in receiving and dealing with patients, maintaining the record systems used in the practice, making patient appointments, answering the telephone and dealing with retail sales

Desired qualifications

GCSE Grade 9-4 (A*-C) or above in English and maths or equivalent qualifications.

Future prospects

The apprenticeship is offered with a view to a long-term full-time position on completion. 

Things to consider

  • Attendance one day per week at Leamington College for one academic year
  • You will be required to complete formal training which will include some visits to college, practical and theoretical work and examinations
  • You will be required to have up to date immunisations including Hepatitis B injection and pass an advanced CRD / DBS check
  • We also require 2 satisfactory references
