Responsibility for Assets, materials, information etc.

To maintain the confidential nature of information relating to the school, its pupils, parents and carers. General responsibility for the care of all equipment and materials within the designated area of the school.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To respond to requests for assistance recorded on the ICT Helpdesk system, in concert with other ICT technicians.
  • Care and maintenance of the ICT equipment, including printers and other peripherals. Including administration/management of the network printing and accounting/administration system software.
  • To assist in the set-up and installation of computer equipment and peripherals.
  • To ensure that the school’s Data Security policies and procedures are strictly adhered to.
  • To assist in the maintenance/upkeep of the school website.
  • To ensure that data on computers that are to be scrapped or otherwise disposed of is properly removed from the equipment.
  • To assist in the maintenance of the Asset Register in relation to computer equipment and peripherals ensuring traceability of assets.
  • To maintaining stocks of relevant consumables and resources, including stock taking, re-ordering against requirements and checking deliveries.
  • To assist students in using resources for project work etc.
  • To assist in the maintenance of records and documentation.
  • To provide first line support for the telephone system, and links to the telephone system provider.
  • To contribute to the efficient running of the school by contributing to the development of systems to meet changing needs and to improve the services provided.
  • To assist in the provision of flexible and efficient administration services within the school as required to meet the school need.
  • Administration and maintenance of the school’s Access Control System and equipment, including management of access schedules and creation and management of ID badges.
  • Administration and maintenance of the Cashless Catering System including card management.
  • Responsible for the sourcing/purchase of end-user devices.
  • Administration and management of school mobile telephone provision, including liaison with external providers. 
  • Attending approved apprenticeship course and completing assignments in a timely fashion.

Your duties also include any assistance which may reasonably be required of you by the School from time to time. 

General Responsibilities

  • To provide some break time supervision of students on a rota basis and exam invigilation/reader-scribe duties as required.

Desired qualifications

Maths and English grade A*-C,9-4 GCSE or equivalent.

Shipley college will try to verify your grades online but you may be asked to submit scans of certificates or sit a skills assessment.

Future prospects

The apprentice would be able to apply for a full-time position if available on completion.
