Aftermarket Sales duties: 

  • Provide tele-sales support to customers including written quotations
  • Provide technical support to customers and colleagues
  • Expedite key quotations through the various IT systems as required
  • Maintain and update outstanding live quotations through the business systems
  • Attend site for measuring and support sales visits. 
  • Produce engineering drawings and Bills of Materials
  • Liaise directly with suppliers where necessary to obtain prices
  • Maintain all records of Spares Quotations, Sales Orders and Invoices from supplier to customer
  • Enter spares sales orders and sales prices of components on the CRM system
  • Administer sales initiatives as directed by the Aftermarket Technical Sales Manager

Aftermarket Service duties: 

  • Carry out service and maintenance work and complete detailed reports on findings
  • Carry out the fitting of spares/service inspection visits in accordance with the Schenck work procedures
  • Carry out investigations and trouble shooting as requested and provide written reports
  • Carry out installation work as requested
  • Carry out test and commissioning of equipment with relevant documentation completed
  • Work in safe manner at all times and comply with Health & Safety policies

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Understanding the importance of complying with statutory health and safety regulations
  • Good IT and literacy
  • Experience of undertaking a hands-on engineering project would be desirable

Personal qualities

  • Confident and team-player
  • A keen interest in engineering
  • Must be 18 and hold a full driving licence by July 2021 in order to attend customer sites

Desired qualifications

  • Five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade A*- C (9-4) or above, which must include maths, English and a science subject, together with a real interest in technical matters
  • A engineering qualification would be desirable

Future prospects

  • Permanent position upon completion of apprenticeship contingent on successful performance within the role in either the Site Service team or within the office environment in either Sales or Engineer. Support for further study would be available such as HNC/HND

Things to consider

  • This programme is a great opportunity, however, will require a lot of hard work and dedication. Learners will be expected to work 2 or 3 qualifications at the same time and also contribute towards the Aftermarket team from the second year onwards including balancing learning with travel away from home to customer sites
