Duties ay include:

  • Understands the sales lifecycle, techniques and processes
  • Understands the principles and ethics of sales, recognising the importance of delivering value to the customer
  • Handling inbound sales calls
  • Processing sales orders via web, inbound telephone calls and email
  • Dealing with customer queries relating to both orders and products, liaising with relevant departments
  • Monitoring open orders using the Status Bar screen on the internal system, Great Plains and ensuring all goods are despatched in a timely manner with customers updated
  • Prioritising work, demonstrating flexibility and ability to work under pressure to progress sales, manage time and workflow
  • Dealing with date change emails, informing customers where necessary
  • Processing pro forma invoices and convert where necessary; chase and void quotes on a regular basis using the Status Bar
  • Generating quotes for custom manufactured items (NSPs)
  • Ensuring that accounts and contacts are correctly entered and updated with Customer Type, Industry Sector and GDPR marketing permissions
  • Keeping the UK Sales Manager fully aware of any potential issues with orders
  • Dealing with invoice queries and completing credit note request form where necessary
  • Identifying any potential sales opportunities and/or areas for growth and forwarding to the proactive /field sales team
  • Building relationships with customers and providing a high level of customer service; maintaining and increasing sales

  • Communicate effectively with Line Manager and all other colleagues
  • Maintain a professional manner, ensuring the excellent customer service reputation at Canford Audio Ltd. is retained
  • Assist with the development of new systems and processes to enhance capability to achieve individual and departmental goals

  • Willingness to work towards an Apprenticeship qualification
  • Willing to be trained on in-house and external product database to gain a thorough understanding of the portfolio of products available
  • Attend any training to comply with legislation & the development of the department

Either have or expect to achieve 2 A Levels Grades A-C (or equivalent qualifications) Customer Services, Business Studies or similar subjects.

Future prospects

There are further opportunities for development within the role. We will be looking to develop a suitable candidate on to a Key Account Manager position, which is primarily to proactively maximise sales opportunities wherever possible, with a rapid, first-class service.

Things to consider

The role is computer based, will involve taking and making telephone calls and can be incredibly busy.

Customer service is the most important aspect of this role.
