An excellent opportunity for an apprentice chef to gain a Commis Chef apprenticeship within a popular local pub / restaurant. You will work alongside an accomplished Head Chef; learning a variety of techniques.

Duties may include:
- Gain experience across all areas of the kitchen to gain knowledge to complete Commis Chef Apprenticeship Standard
- Work as a team with the kitchen brigade to maintain the highest standards at all times
- Ensure all food prep is completed in a timely and efficient manner
- Adhere to strict cleanliness & hygiene procedures and practises

GCSE at least a 2/E or above in both maths and English. Level 1 Functional Skills are accepted as an equivalent.
Potential to progress to senior chef level, you will become an integral part of the team and there are lots of prospects here in return for your hard work.
Things to consider
Our restaurant is open 12pm to 9pm Thursday to Saturday and 12pm to 6pm Sunday.
You will be expected to work 24 hours at our restaurant and complete a further 6 hours at college as per the requirements of your training; this accumulates to 30 hours per week. These hours will be regularly reviewed and may change accordingly to suit our service requirements. You will be given a minimum notice of 2 weeks if your working hours change.
Your working hours:
Thursday 16:30 to 21:30 = 5hrs
Friday 14:00 to 22:00 = 7.30hrs
with a minimum half hour unpaid lunch break
Saturday 16:30 to 21: 30 = 5hrs
Sunday 13:00 to 19:30 6.30hrs
With a minimum half hour unpaid lunch break
Further unpaid breaks can be taken providing the service allows this and it has been agreed, however you may be expected to make up your time.
The wage will be regularly reviewed and will rise in line with performance and progression through your Apprenticeship.
The first stage after your initial application will be to attend an interview with a member of the team at Kirklees College. It is mandatory to attend an interview at the college for your application to progress.
Candidates may be asked to complete an assessment as part of the interview process. Information will be in your interview letter.
