The broad purpose of the occupation is to carry out metal fabrication work using things such as rolled steel joists, columns, channels, steel plate and metal sheet etc. Fabricators use a large range of metals including steel, aluminium and titanium at a range of thicknesses from 0.5mm up to over 20mm.

This position offers to teach the successful applicant training to weld with MIG and TIG to a very high standard on thin gauge materials such as Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium . Along with the welding they will also learn how to fabricate these materials to make a wide range of products from Electrical cabinets to Ultrasonic Wash Tanks using Press Brake Machines, Band Saws and many different small power tools whilst learning to read and work from engineering drawings.

Desired qualifications
