This is an great opportunity for someone who wants to pursue a career in the facilities, general repair and maintenance whilst gaining work experience, a new career skill and a Facilities Apprenticeship.

General:

  • To be familiar with the lay out/plan of the Hotel and car park
  • To be familiar with the working of all equipment in the building and to be aware of the maintenance contracts in place with the relevant companies
  • To receive a print out of the daily maintenance list every day. All work carried out should then be taken off the list and marked as completed
  • To maintain a par stock of items such as light bulbs, batteries and other necessary maintenance supplies
  • Carry out stock take on listed electrical supplies
  • To liaise with Management and Supervisors to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the property
  • To inform and assist any service engineers who are called to the property
  • At the end of each month, take a reading for water, gas and electricity
  • To deal with customer complaints in a courteous and sympathetic fashion and inform Management of every complaint or importance observation
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests as directed by Management
  • To ensure a high standard of person hygiene and grooming
  • To ensure that reasonable care is taken for health & safety of yourself, other employees, guests and any other persons on the premises
  • To keep work area tidy and safe and report any hazard, accidents, loss or damage to management
  • To be aware of trained first aid personnel on the premises and the location of first aid box
  • To observe all safety rules and procedures, including those laid down in the Health & Safety Statement for your work place

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To carry out any internal and external painting and decorating tasks with a durable and quality finish
  • To be familiar with the lay out/plan of the Hotel’s premises
  • Prepare surfaces and apply paints, stains, shading stains, and clear finishes
  • Remove previous paint by means of sandblasting, scraping, sanding, hydro-blasting or steam-cleaning
  • Maintain a clean work environment
  • Clean up job site after work and return equipment and tools
  • To be familiar with the working of all equipment in the building and to be aware of the maintenance contracts in place with the relevant companies
  • To receive a print out of the daily tasks list every day. All work carried out should then be taken off the list and marked as completed. This should then be signed by Duty Manager and the Maintenance Engineer
  • To liaise with Management and Supervisors to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the property
