We are looking for an apprentice butcher to work 8 hours, 5 days a week including Saturdays in our production unit. 

They will be trained in all aspects of the meat industry but the main duties/tasks they will carry out includes:

  • Sausage making
  • Meat cutting
  • All aspects of curing bacon, hams, charcuterie, salami
  • Cleaning

Things to consider

It is hard work, it involves working on a Saturday. It is physically demanding and can be non stop all day, in winter it is a cold environment to work in. Despite this, it is a rewarding and satisfying job.

About the employer

We are a large retail shop employing 18 members of staff, we also sell a selection of our products to trade customers including bars, restaurants, farm shops and delis. We are currently expanding our production of charcuterie which will be an important area for our new apprentice.
