Duties to include:

  • To serve all our customers in a friendly, polite, and efficient manner
  • The ability to familiarise yourself with our beverages and recommend products. These will be both alcoholic and non- alcoholic beverages
  • To clean and maintain the bar area along with tables inside and outside the venue
  • To clean down bar area ready for close
  • Recording all payments accurately on the till, handling cash and ensuring correct operation of till procedures
  • To comply with all company Health, Safety, Fire and Hygiene policies, taking care of personal safety and that of members of your team, customers, and visitors to the unit
  • Liaise with Management and your colleagues ensuring tasks are carried out efficiently
  • Be willing to work additional shifts to cover holidays and sickness
  • To carry out any other duties as required by the business that may not be directly associated with your job function

Things to consider

Due to the hours available this course has been extended to 20 months. As this is an apprenticeship, candidates must not be on any other government funded learning. Please expect to work some evenings and weekends due to the nature of this business.

The Mallard is located at the heart of Worksop adjacent to the railway station. Sited in a beautiful grade 2 listed building, the venue serves commuters and travellers but also acts as a social environment for local residents. The venue is all about socialising and has a very warm traditional feeling.
