Hospitality Team Member Apprentice The Harbour Hotel
The Harbour Hotel is seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join them as a Hospitality Team Member apprentice.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Level 2 (GCSE)
Working as a member of the Front of House Team, you will be supporting the kitchen and bar area to ensure customers have a great experience.
Daily duties will include:
- Table service
- Bottling up
- Polishing cutlery
- Taking orders
- Running food
- Clearing tables
- Taking payment
- Covid compliance
- Serving alcohol
- Matching food and wine
- Team work
- Making coffee, barista training will be given

Good educational qualifications (5 A*- C GCSEs is desired). Maths and English will be studied as a Mandatory part of the Apprenticeship if C/4 has not already been achieved. These will be studied by Block Weeks, Monday to Friday.
Please note: we are unable to accept candidates that not meet a minimum D/3 grade at GCSE in both Maths and English or equivalent.
There may the opportunity for a permanent position for the right candidate, upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.

- Due to the nature of the role, no two days will be the same
- Public transport links - bus stop nearby. However please ensure that bus timetables match start/finish times required of the role
- Rota system for weekend work with two consecutive days off

About the employer
The Harbour was a grain store that was converted into a house at the turn of the last century and then in the 1950's turned into a hotel.
It is a lovely period building that we have tried to enhance with contemporary features.
Our focus is very much on the comfort of our guests.
Built into the cliff overlooking the harbour; the restaurant, conservatory and terrace have superb views over seven of Newquay's finest beaches. Dogs and their well behaved owners are more than welcome.
The kitchen is headed up by Aaron Janes and has been built on his passion for food. "My philosophy on cuisine is the same as the one I have carried with me throughout my career. Keep it simple but elegant, challenge yourself to be creative, invest time to source local produce, be aware of the carbon footprint and be sure to leave a legacy through your passion for cuisine".

You will be working towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hospitality Team Member.
You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor.
You will be required to attend Cornwall College Camborne on a weekly basis as part of the apprenticeship training.
