  • The shop needs to be checked for tidiness and fish health problems prior to opening the store at 10am (currently 11am, as we are not back to normal hours yet from Covid)
  • Assist in preparation of store and ensuring store is merchandised to a very high standard before, during and at the end of each shift.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, deal with enquiries, quotations, and sales orders.
  • Assist other members of staff with any required departmental duties to satisfy customer enquiries or internal processes
  • Customers have to be greeted and served appropriately. We will mentor you in looking after livestock, from 1cm Tropical Neon Tetra to 90cm Koi Carp, and how to give the appropriate advice
  • Stock needs to be noted and ordered weekly. When it arrives it will need to be priced and displayed. Live stock is supplied ‘in house’ from our wholesale department, on the same site. Fish need to be acclimatised and priced accordingly. Sometimes you may need to help with shipments of fish from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka, etc. in the wholesale department, usually Tuesday PM.
  • Sometimes you may need to help with deliveries of large items etc. after shop closes, which you will be paid for or hours in Lieu.

Things to consider

Currently 30 hrs per week which may increase once the store opens normally post-covid.  It will involve working 1 weekend day per week (you will get a day off during the week).
