    Wages explained

    The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year.
    Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.
    The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

We are looking to recruit an ambitious Sales Apprentice for an exciting, growing business in Bolton.

These B2B roles are full-time, permanent positions.

The Sales Apprentice will be office based, and will be responsible for making outbound sales calls to a wide range of clients throughout the Construction industry to sell advertising space within our online digital construction publication.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Dealing with Incoming Sales Calls
  • Making pro‐active outgoing Sales Calls
  • Maintaining CRM System
  • Responding to customer email enquiries
  • External Sales Support
  • Preparing Customer Quotations
  • Following up on Customer Quotes

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Previous experience within a sales or targeted position.
  • Good communication skills & telephone manner.
  • A self-motivated and positive attitude towards work.
  • A desire to succeed and exceed expectations.

Any experience within media/advertising sales would be a distinct advantage although not essential as full training and leads are provided.

Personal qualities

We are looking for somebody who is looking to make a career in sales and would be excited by joining a fast

Growing company. Work ethic and ability to think for themselves is as important as education and experience.

Qualifications required

  • Must be IT Literate, with good Microsoft Office Understanding

Things to consider

From the 1st October 2016 the NMW for apprentices is £3.40. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training. 16-17 - £4.00 per hour 18-20 - £5.55 per hour 21+ £6.95 per hour
