  • To work alongside colleagues to provide individualised person-centred support for adults with learning disabilities, mental health problems and complex needs enabling them to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life, to participate in the community and to develop their abilities as fully as possible.
  • To develop and maintain a warm trusting relationship with the individuals we support.
  • To promote the self-esteem, happiness and emotional health of the individuals we support.
  • To develop the necessary skills to enable the individuals we support to become as independent as possible and to grow in confidence, competence and personal effectiveness in the following areas:
  1. Social skills/relationships
  2. Personal support & hygiene
  3. Daily living skills
  4. Managing money
  5. Using community resources and facilities
  6. Social, leisure and work activities
  7. Self-organisation and coping abilities

This would be achieved by working alongside senior colleagues in the provision of practical assistance, support, therapeutic recreation and educational sessions, teaching, advice, role modelling, encouragement and positive feedback.
Adhering to all safeguarding protocols to ensure the safety of individuals we support.
Ability to deliver accurate written information eg record daily activities, concerns or incidents.
Be committed to all training and development work provided to the apprenticeship.
