Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing clerical support including word-processing, maintaining databases, inputting data, reproduction, filing, writing reports and letters
  • To use information technology systems to carry out duties in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Covering the school reception and switchboard services, as appropriate
  • Being aware of the Data Protection Act, duties of confidentiality and other legislation to ensure confidentiality of records and information is maintained
  • To undertake such other administrative duties as reasonably requested by the Office Manager
  • To undertake a development programme leading to a National Vocational Qualification as part of an apprenticeship
  • To actively participate in their own development plan which will be agreed with the line manager and their assessor from the training provider
  • To take part in meetings as requested by the line manager
  • To participate in supervision and training with the line manager
  • To achieve performance management targets as agreed with the line manager
  • Organise and provide refreshments and hospitality for meetings and events
  • Accompanying visitors within the Academy

Personal qualities

  • Interpret straightforward instructions and resolve straightforward issues or problems that may occur as part of routine duties e.g. addressing and dispatching correspondence, completion of proformas, notes of meetings
  • Cope with short periods of concentrated sensory attention or short periods of enhanced mental attention.
  • Knowledge of the procedures for a limited number of tasks and the operation of associated basic tools and equipment
  • Be able to follow straightforward verbal and written instructions and keep basic work records
  • Have good attention to detail

GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths and English.
