You’ll be mentored in the workplace by experienced chefs and supported by a registered training company, who will assist you with your learning and development journey throughout the Apprenticeship.

  • Prepare, cook and present food effectively to the company’s high standard for taste, presentation and quality 
  • Maintain and acquire knowledge about ingredients, dishes and cooking methods to constantly develop 
  • Carry out instructions as given by management and senior chefs 
  • Assist in completion of relevant paperwork – wastage sheets, cleaning records etc 
  • Maintain safe food systems and record necessary information in a clear and concise way 
  • Ensure portion control, preparation and storage methods avoid unnecessary wastage 
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, tidy, hygienic and safe at all times 
  • Work safely with kitchen equipment and report any issues
