  • To respond to emergency repair situations in a timely manner
  • Repairs to walls, doors, doorframes, skirting boards, plaster boards.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing and drainage systems, leaking taps, unblocking drains and water testing.
  • Treat residents and staff with respect and dignity

On successful appointment:

About the employer

Ashmere Nottinghamshire Ltd is a family run group of care homes with over 30 years’ experience in care. They offer day care, residential care, care for younger disabled people, those with dementia and also respite care.

They are committed to ensuring that each of their three homes exceeds the expectations of its residents;

Sutton Court provides care for up to 59 residents, it is purpose built to a luxurious standard.

Sutton Manor is a lovely and welcoming home for 45 residents.

Sutton Lodge is a specialist dementia home which is specially adapted to meet personalised needs.

In order to achieve the highest levels of care their properties need to be maintained to a high standard to ensure efficient working. The maintenance team is made up of three full time and one part time staff and they are now in a position to take on an apprentice.

You will be supported by the maintenance team within the workplace and you will also have a period of day release into college to enable you to study the Property Maintenance Operative at Level 2.

An apprenticeship is an on the job learning programme that allows you, the apprentice, to earn a wage, gain valuable work experience and industry specific competence. You will be expected to work towards theory elements in addition to putting the theory into practice.

As part of your apprenticeship and dependent on your prior attainment you may be required to complete Maths, English and ICT Functional Skills which are an integral part of your apprenticeship.   Upon successful completion you will be awarded additional certificates of recognition.

Vision Business will also work with you to ensure your knowledge of Employment Rights and Responsibilities are at the required level for an apprentice.
