Technicians will be trained in all aspects of heavy vehicle repair and will include diagnostics using OEM equipment for Volvo and DAF.

Our HGV Technicians service and maintain all aspects of our modern and varied fleet of heavy goods vehicles, trailers and tail lifts.

Our fully equipped and IRTEC accredited Workshops all have the ability to complete:

  • Roller brake tests
  • Tacho calibrations
  • Air conditioning service/repairs
  • Windscreen repair
  • Tail lift statutory inspections and weight tests

  • An interest in the automotive and engineering industries, an inquisitive nature and a desire to fix things are just as important as academic achievements

Fleet-Serv are looking for ambitious individuals who are enthusiastic about developing a successful career in engineering.

Desired qualifications

Grade 4/C in maths and English or equivalent qualifications are desirable (applicants who do not meet the criteria above will be assessed by a college representative and complete further maths and English diagnostics).

On the successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will be a fully qualified Heavy Vehicle Technician where the career prospects are excellent.

Training is not all practical. We believe that learning to use a computer and understanding the theory behind the practical work is very important.
