Duties include:

  • Answering all incoming calls and book client appointments
  • Greeting clients
  • Making drinks
  • Shampooing clients hair
  • Advising clients on shampoos
  • Conditioners and treatments (training will be given)
  • Assisting and observing stylists
  • To ensure that the working environment is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • To identify your clients’ needs and wishes, analyse the hair, skin and scalp of your clients and to make recommendations and agree with your clients services to be carried out
  • To perform consultations and provide a professional opinion to your clients during each service
  • To effectively plan and manage your working day
  • Keep up to date with product knowledge
  • Be responsible for your own personal development
  • Attend team training

Things to consider

Applicants must have a realistic idea of what it is like to work as an apprentice in the Hairdressing industry and must be willing to help out with the less glamorous tasks such as cleaning! Please be aware that when working as a Hairdressing apprentice part of your daily jobs will be to clean and tidy the salon. There will be some long periods of standing.
