A Vehicle Service Advisor deals directly with customers and acts as a go-between between the customer and Service Technicians scheduling vehicle service work. They will handle administrative and customer relations aspects of service department operations.
Their duties may vary slightly from employer to employer depending on the size of the company, but they commonly include:
- Interpreting customer concerns and comments and liaising with technicians
- Booking/scheduling vehicle services
- Liaising with customers about any additional work required
- Estimating time and costs associated with repairs
- Handling customer complaints
- Responding to customer requests
- Tracking the vehicle through the workshop

Desired qualifications
Prior attainment GCSEs at grades A*-C/9-4 (or equivalent) in maths and English. Predicated grades are accepted
In Scotland, applicants must have or be predicted to achieve National 4 or above in English and maths and either a Science or Technical subject. Standard Grades 1-4 and Intermediates are also accepted.

About the employer
Founded in 1937 by H Whale as Ryland Motors, the Group’s origins were in truck sales and coach building. By the 1950s, Ryland was a Limited Company and the company’s focus changed to passenger cars. In 1994 the Group, by then one of the UK’s largest automotive groups, became a plc under the Chairmanship of Peter Whale, grandson of the company’s founder.
After 9 years as a plc however, Peter led an MBO returning the Group to private ownership. Since then concentration has been on the specialist car sector.2006 witnessed the formation of Rybrook Holdings Ltd., with Managing Director Henry Whale confirming the group’s aims for future expansion in this sector. In 2010 Rybrook was named as one of the 3 automotive retailers in the UK representing McLaren. The McLaren Birmingham showroom opened in Hockley Heath in July 2011 and is situated next to the brand new Rolls-Royce Birmingham showroom with a brand new Rybrook Specialist Car showroom above on the first floor. In July 2012 Rybrook acquired Porsche Centre Chester.
