Duties may include:

  • Apprentices will be helped by in service training and support to be able to plan and implement the requirements of the EYFS within the provision
  • Apprentices will gain experience which will enable them to be able to observe, assess and plan for children’s individual development
  • Apprentices will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and healthy environment for the children attending the nursery
  • Apprentices will work alongside the staff team, ensuring that the nursery environment is stimulating and inviting for all of the children attending

  • Some experience either at work or as a volunteer in childcare. This could be scouts / cubs etc or Sunday school or with a sports club

  • Must have GCSE (or equivalent) grade D/3 and above in both English and maths or Functional Skills Level 1 in both English and maths

Things to consider

  • The children are encouraged to go outside as much as possible, therefore, the candidate should be informed that they will be expected to go outside in all weather
  • The candidate must be willing to work between the hours of opening (7.30am to 6.30pm) on a shift basis - 6 hours per day Monday to Friday
  • Willing to attend training and meetings, sometimes out of hours
  • Willing to wear a uniform (supplied)
  • Successful applicants will be invited to interview (face to face or Zoom) and then required to complete a work experience day prior to offer
  • A DBS and reference check will be done for the successful candidate before the start of employment
