We are looking for dedicated person, who have a passion for working with young children. Preferably a proactive applicant who doesn’t mind getting down on the floor and getting messy; someone who also understands that working with children requires patience, sensitivity and eyes on the back of their head. The position is more than “just playing” with the children and we are more than happy to support and guide any applicant through their training journey.

If you think this is something you’d like and don’t mind a noisy working environment then we are the place for you.

Your working week will be varied but typical roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the nursery for activities
  • Planning and preparing child and adult led activities to inspire the children
  • Ensuring that babies and children are safe and secure at all times
  • Ensuring that the setting is clean and safe
  • Assisting with the provision of meals

Desired qualifications

The requirement for Level 3 Early Years Educators (EYE) to hold GCSE English and maths A*-C 9/4 will be broadened to Level 2 qualifications, including Functional Skills. Or equivalents.

Future prospects

Becoming a fully qualified, level 3 Early Educator as a permanent member of the team, further education is supported.

Things to consider

The position involves getting messy, working in a noisy environment, working outdoors. A thorough induction is provided.

We are a family centred nursery in the heart of Totton, working with children aged 2-4 years. Our team is a friendly, close knit group who often socialise outside of working hours as well and love their profession.
