  • To receive Bill of Lading instructions from Clients. To draft control sheets and ensure shipment details are in accordance with the cargo shipped, paying special attention to correct freighting.
  • To create Voyage Headers in the computer system to establish rates of exchange for export vessels and advise parties concerned
  • To input Bill of Lading data into the computer system after transfer from Compass or Inttra and to complete sheets as necessary. To ensure that Bill Lading are produced in accordance with instructions as declared by the Client
  • Release of Bill of Lading to Clients as instructed and in accordance with Hamburg Sud UK Branch credit policy and subject to the appropriate Terms and Conditions
  • To control the re-issuance of corrected Bills of Lading and to prepare correctors where necessary, to monitor the collection of disbursements
  • To prepare HM Customs and Excise documents. Authentication of Customs documents and legislation of documents as required. Also arrange collection of disbursements when required
  • To call manifest and associated reports from computer systems and to despatch same to Overseas Office electronically and in accordance with the relevant requirements, and time constraints
  • To file copy documents and records for future reference, in accordance with department instructions
  • To ensure that purchase invoices relative to export shipments are approved and passed for payments, ensuring that charges have been calculated in accordance with negotiated rate prevailing tariffs and where applicable have been re-charged
  • Compliance with ISO 9001 & 14001 procedures

In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder may be required to perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager from time to time.
