Duties may include:

  • To provide technical support, answering support queries either via telephone or email
  • To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles
  • To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues
  • To log all calls on the IT Helpdesk system and maintain full documentation
  • Respond to enquiries from users and help them resolve any hardware or software problems
  • To set up and configure all new equipment as required, including user profiles for Active Directory, Exchange and Office 365
  • Provide technical support for telephone lines, systems and mobile phones
  • Maintain an asset log of all hardware items, their software configuration and location
  • Maintain and administer data backup and restore as per procedure
  • Support users in the use of Computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice
  • To allocate more complex service issues to the relevant IT Support member
  • To arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in house

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows desktop technologies (Windows 10)
  • Understanding of computing in a network environment
  • Experience using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent telephone manner and face to face communication skills
  • Experience with using and troubleshooting Outlook
  • Understanding of basic PC hardware set-up and configuration
  • Basic computer networking
  • Knowledge of various smartphones covering setup of Android and IOS
  • Concepts and understanding of principles of cyber security
  • Configuration and troubleshooting printing Use of remote support software

Desired qualifications
