You must WANT to be a waiter/waitress and be aiming for a career in hospitality. This is not just something to do for people who don’t know what to do.

They need to learn fast and be able to cope with extremely busy lunchtimes. Respectful, good communicators (able to hold a conversation with confidence) and resilient enough to cope with instruction and feedback from the Head Chef and his team. NB. There are 3, sometimes 4 French people in our team so be open to their style of working and communication.

Front-of-house, we are looking for someone who has – or wants to learn - good customer service skills and confidence dealing with the public.

Duties may include:

  • Greeting customers
  • Taking orders
  • Ensuring the chef has the correct orders
  • Taking payments

This is a busy café within a highly respected art gallery. Our reputation and that of the Burton, is important.
