This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the warehousing department of a well-established specialist food producer, that utilises finest ingredients to produce high quality products.

Your duties would be as follows:

Incoming goods:

  • To receive into Store raw materials and packaging, inspecting, and testing in line with quality procedures
  • To carry out checks to ensure supplier and the incoming raw material/packaging are on the approved supplier list and where required the delivery is accompanied by a certificate of conformance
  • To carry out goods-in checks of raw material/packaging e.g. correct quantity, appropriate shelf life, cleanliness of packaging etc. as set out in the company’s Incoming Goods Procedures
  • To store away materials in correct location following stock rotation procedures

Outgoing goods:

  • To pick and pack orders correctly, recording Codes on the Picking Sheets
  • To liaise with the Sales Office regarding any issues which might lead to any orders not being fulfilled e.g. shortages, delays etc
  • To enter customers’ details onto computer, print and affix address labels as required
  • To load orders onto vehicle ensuring driver of the collection vehicle signs for goods and the completed proof of collection is returned to the Sales Office
  • To liaise with the Sales Office regarding any problems with collections
  • Handling and return to storage of materials to/from production
  • To supply raw materials and packaging to Production, checking goods to make sure Use By Dates are in date and in place, and the goods are in clean condition and adequately protected from the elements
  • To return raw materials and packaging back into Stores ensuring materials are sealed/securely lidded and have correct storage location information present
  • To collect finished goods from Production as required, store goods away in the correct location and following stock rotation procedures

Stock Control:

  • To assist with stock takes as required
  • To ensure all stock is rotated in that oldest stock is picked first and shelf life remaining on stock is correct for the stock item being picked

Health & Safety:

  • To adhere to company Health & Safety rules and regulations and wear appropriate PPE as required
  • To ensure you are properly equipped for the job function and that you use equipment properly following Health & Safety Guidelines
  • To report any accidents/near misses to the Warehouse Supervisor/Health & Safety Officer

Company Equipment:

  • To maintain properly any company equipment for which you are responsible and report any defects to the Warehouse Supervisor
  • To use tools in accordance with company health & safety / food safety procedures
  • To operate the forklift in a safe and competent manner following health & safety guidelines. (upon completion of training
