Duties Include:

  • To provide a high standard of quality care and education
  • To contribute effectively to the planning and provision of activities in relation to the Early Years Foundation Stage
  • To assist with school runs and the walk to school
  • To work closely and provide supervision for school aged children 
  • To work with children and their families to deliver quality childcare and learning activities, to enable them to access informal learning, play experiences and social activities 
  • To empower and support parents/carers to become actively involved in their children’s learning and development
  • To support the delivery of the children and young people plan and the requirements of the Childcare Act 2006, The Early Years Foundation Stage and related legislation
  • We provide Care for children from six months, up to 12 years doing school drop off and pickups. We provide daily freshly cooked meals, provide regular weekly outings for woodland walks, the allotment, local parks, children centres, libraries, and stay and play sessions We adhere to the same regulations as nurseries and follow all the guidelines set out by Ofsted and the local authority
  • We provide an environment where children are encouraged to develop at their own pace. Working in partnership with the families we serve, providing support and encouragement

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Some experience working within a nursery setting or similar
  • Passionate to work with children is essential
  • Good basic skills in numeracy and literacy
  • Functional Skills in ICT
  • You must be motivated to carry out duties to a high standard.
  • You will be expected to develop an ability to use your own initiative.
  • The ability to work under pressure

Personal qualities

  • You must be presentable with a caring nature
  • You must demonstrate a commitment and enthusiasm to providing quality childcare
  • The ideal candidate will need to have good communication skills when dealing with children and adults, and will need to be reliable and hardworking
  • You must have the ability to follow procedures from given instructions
  • Hardworking and have the ability to learn and develop their skills to enjoy their career in Child Care
  • You must have good timekeeping and attendance which is very important for this position
  • You must be honest and trust worthy, humble, patient and hardworking

Desired qualifications

  • L2 in early years education preferred but not essential
  • A-C/7-4 GCSE or equivalent in English & maths 

Future prospects

An opportunity of a permanent position on completion of the apprenticeship.

Things to consider

  • If not already obtained the successful applicant will require a DBS (CRB) check, First Aid, Safeguarding and Food Hygiene Training
  • Any childcare relevant qualifications would be beneficial
  • You may be requested to attend our Bromley Campus one day a week for Functional Skills in Maths an English if need be
