Apprentice Commis Chef Gary Christopher Coughlan

Training on all sections of the kitchen and assisting the Chefs with the day to day tasks as well as managing your own section on certain days of the week. Maintain high levels of hygiene standards and working with the team to keep the menu constantly evolving. All we require is the right attitude, enthusiasm, drive and passion.

Duties involve:

  • To wash and prepare all fresh fruit and vegetables, picked daily from our farm
  • Cooking and pickling
  • Meat and fish prep
  • Pastry production
  • Managing your time carefully
  • Complete your work to the standard required with guidance from the Head Chef
  • Stock checks, stock control and waste management
  • Setting up, preparing and cleaning working environment
  • Identifying commonly used knives and equipment and their specific uses
  • Teamwork and developing working relationships
  • Maintain a high level of hygiene practices
  • Ability to work alongside others with a positive attitude, maintain good time keeping

  • Whilst we do not require any previous experience, showing a real passion for the industry and a good understanding of basic cooking principles and culinary terms will benefit the candidate

  • We are only operational 5 days a week. We close on Sundays and will be open on Friday evenings during the summer months- we really look to give our staff a work life balance
