Duties may include:

  • Meeting and greeting parents and children
  • Completing diaries on children’s daily activities
  • Helping with lunch time
  • To participate in the planning and preparing of activities
  • To individually plan and provide activities and resources appropriate to each child’s age, stage of development and individuals needs and interests and also activities that stimulate and support children’s intellectual, physical, social, emotional and language development with due regard to the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Interacting and playing with children in a fun and educational manner
  • To work with all the children, look after their welfare, discuss their development and deliver a curriculum appropriate to their age, stage and ability undertake regular record keeping
  • Listening to, encouraging, enabling, stimulating and ensuring the safe keeping of the children
  • Ensure health & safety standards are maintained, hazards are quickly identified and removed, hygiene and cleanliness is upheld

About the employer

Railway Kindergarten is a private day nursery in Urmston. The nursery was established in 2002. We are situated in a detached residence within 5-minute walk of Urmston Town Centre, giving good access to all local shops, the Trafford Centre, Trafford Park, the Motorway network and Manchester City Centre.

The Nursery is specifically designed for the enjoyment of young children through a wide variety of play situations, and it is our aim to provide the very best in nursery care and education from the age of 3 months to 5 years. The nursery is registered and approved by Ofsted under the children’s act 1989 and undergoes regular inspections.

The nursery is managed by a fully qualified member of staff. Other staff are either fully qualified or training to that end. All staff involved with the children have experience in the care and development of young children and provide a happy and family-like atmosphere.

  • Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship Standards

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Railway Kindergarten will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.

If successful, you will complete a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner apprenticeship programme, delivered through Railway Kindergarten dedicated training provider called Realise.
