You will provide professional and efficient service to all members of the Science Faculty; delivering practical equipment and resources in line with the national curriculum including:

  • Assisting teaching in the educational work of the Science Faculty
  • The safe and efficient preparation of practical equipment etc. for lessons and demonstration. Construction and adaptation of apparatus
  • Organising and preparing for A level Physics, Biology and Chemistry practical exams
  • Setting up data logging equipment
  • Assisting the Science Faculty to provide practical materials for open evening, parent meetings and primary links
  • Issue chemicals, apparatus, equipment and materials
  • Construction of individual apparatus if required
  • Setting up data projector with laptop and/or visiview with microscope
  • Assist with selecting consumables/equipment/apparatus in relation to price and quality, obtaining quotations

A comprehensive programme of induction and departmental support will be provided and a mentor will be allocated to support you. The wellbeing and professional development of all staff at Our Lady and St Chad is our priority.
