We have an opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to start a career with a fast-growing company. Our client has been supplying and fitting floor coverings across Bristol and the South West for over 30 years. Clients include private homes and prestigious hotel groups.

They are looking for an apprentice to join their flooring installation team, you will need to be enthusiastic and willing to learn. 

You will need to work quickly and accurately and have a polite and courteous manner when dealing with customers and the general public.

Duties will include:

  • Clearing floor areas
  • Uplifting of old flooring materials
  • Cleaning and levelling sub floors
  • Measuring floor space and estimating the of materials needed
  • Laying carpet, vinyl and other materials
  • Installing underlays for a range of floorcoverings
  • Installing carpets by stretching or bonding to the prepared surface
  • Creating joins in a range of floor coverings
  • Having an eye for detail to achieve good standards
  • Clearing away furniture and taking off doors
  • Putting furniture back and trimming and re-hanging doors
  • Work safely and securely
  • Ad-hoc duties as requested from time to time

You will need to consider that the nature of the job is often strenuous at times and will require heavy lifting; therefore, you will need to be physically fit to undertake the role.
