As an apprentice on our 36-month Apprenticeship programme you will learn all of the skills to become a specialist powered access technician, graduating with an industry recognised level 3 qualification. An apprenticeship is just the start of your career with Sunbelt Rentals with continuous career development and mentoring.

On a day-day basis you’ll be working under the guidance of our skilled technicians at one of our specialist powered access Service Centres developing the necessary skills to maintain and repair the Powered Access equipment within our range. During your industry leading 36 month training we will give you the skills to operate, inspect and service the diverse machines in our fleet, diagnose and repair complex electrical, mechanical and hydraulic faults, capture machine damage and to document and keep accurate and comprehensive service and maintenance records.

Daily tasks are varied and will include working with a mentoring team who will train and support you in becoming skilled at the following:

  • Inspecting and function testing a wide range of equipment
  • Servicing and repairing a fleet of Powered Access machines to meet company and manufacturer standards
  • Assessing machines to ensure they meet the correct operational & safety guidelines
  • Diagnosing and rectifying machinery faults
  • Utilising schematic drawings to assist with identifying faults
  • Ordering replacement parts and fitting them correctly
  • Maintaining comprehensive service & maintenance records accurately

You will attend college blocks at a central location which will involve travel and overnight stays.
