A great opportunity to start your career in Administration. Here you will gain experience in admin whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification.  

Duties and responsibilities

  • General office duties including but not limited to; Filing records, answering phone calls/taking clear messages, sending out Initial Information to prospective parents, i.e. Nursery Prospectus, updating records, processing funding forms, updating database, checking staff rotas against the clocking in system, printing children’s registers for individual rooms, checking registers weekly, preparing and printing Checklists, to include H&S Checklists, Room Checklists etc.
  • To treat all information with the strictest of confidence.
  • Highlighting and monitoring any stock discrepancies, Fortnightly stock taking, stock replenishment, communicating with suppliers regarding stock discrepancies in a timely manner, ordering more stock, including stationery, craft materials, resources, food/drink and maintenance items
  • Updating Employee Records, to include Timesheets, Absence Records, Holiday Records
  • Minute taking of meetings/reviews
  • Working with Microsoft Office, including publisher
  • Uploading invoices to our accounts package Xero (training will be given)
  • Assist with marketing communication
  • To communicate positively and effectively with the children and colleagues.

  • Cover Nursery Practitioner lunchbreaks if/where needed
  • To assist all Nursery Staff with every aspect of the day, taking direction from them where necessary and contributing your ideas and thoughts.
  • To treat all children with equal concern.
  • Adhere to strict health, safety and hygiene practices.
  • To assist in maintaining a safe, clean and tidy environment throughout the nursery.
  • To assist children and colleagues in a fire drill or any other emergency exits.
  • To be flexible meeting the needs of the nursery.
  • To attend team meetings/training days and input any ideas.
  • To ask for help and support where necessary.
  • To be a positive role model, behaving the way you would expect the children to behave.
  • Aid the managers with the smooth running of the setting, by fulfilling any tasks they deem necessary at the time.


As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 3 Business Adminitration Qualification. Your qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you in the workplace on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship
