Working in our Cookridge Hall Health Club as a Commis Chef! We are looking for a young ambitious chef who wants to start their career in the world of hospitality.

Level 2 (GCSE)
We are looking for a young ambitious chef who wants to kick start their career in the world of hospitality. We offer a widely diverse array of cooking as we have a cafe bar which stands as our main dining experience. Along with this, we have a number of rooms for hire which allows us to cater for large numbered events such as weddings, parties, conferences and wakes.
95% of our food is made fresh in house with a few exceptions that we simply can’t beat the quality of; that being said the right candidate will be given the chance to develop and hone their skills making basic core menu items all the way to rosette level dishes under the watchful attention of our head chef.
Daily duties include, but are not limited to:
- The opening and closing of the kitchen
- Preparation of fresh produce
- Basic due diligence
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic
- Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately
Requirements and prospects
- Able to work as part of a team
- Basic knife skills
- We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and confident in their capabilities
- The potential applicant must also be good with time management, enjoys being part of team and a person that the team can depend on
Desirable that the candidate holds maths, English grade 4 / C and above in GCSE or equivalent, however, not essential. If the candidate does not hold one or either of the qualifications then they will need to complete functional skills level 1 and 2 alongside their apprenticeship standard
Once apprenticeship is completed there may be the possibility for the candidate to stay on and become a full time team member as a Chef de Partie.

Commis Chef L2 18 months practical period and 3 months EPA. Total of 21 months on programme Mode of delivery: Delivered in the workplace and weekly college attendance based at our Printworks, Hunslet, Leeds, LS10 1JY.
At the end of your Apprenticeship training you will have achieved:
Level 2 Apprenticeship – Commis Chef Subject to whether you need to complete functional skills, you will also achieve this if applicable by the end of your apprenticeship.
