Apprentice Commis Chef CHEFS CATERING NORTHWEST LTD
We are looking for people to work with our team in one of our 4 venues. We are looking for someone with drive and passion looking to develop life and Kitchen skills.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Level 2 (GCSE)
All candidates will get training in all areas of the kitchen, working from the trainee all the way up to head chef roles.
This will be a combination of internal training along with 1 day per week college attendance and Apprenticeship training and support via Lancaster & Morecambe College.
The candidate will have nationally recognised qualification, and this will be ongoing through the length of the successful applicant's employment.
This will include:
- Knife skills
- Food safety training
- Health and safety training
In the kitchen, the main responsibilities daily will be working with the chef to prepare, cook and plate the meals.
Other duties include:
- Studying recipes
- Setting up menus
- Ensuring meals are prepared on time
Requirements and prospects
- Basic skills in hospitality
- Great customer service skills
- Dedicated willing to work as part of a large or small team
- Community driven
- Flexible where needed
4 GCSEs at grades D/3 or above (or equivalent) in maths and English.
Candidates who have not attended an Apprenticeship Interview at LMC prior to Interview must achieve at least a Level 1 on the Initial Assessment to be complete prior to enrolment.
Can be determined with your trainer depending on your passions are where in which you would like to pursue your career pathways
Things to consider
Transport can be discussed during the interview process and transport can be provided however arrangement for your own travel would be preferred.

Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship standard, which includes:
- Level 1/2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
- End-Point Assessment (EPA)
Relevant training will be provided through Lancaster and Morecambe College in order to successfully complete the Commis Chef Apprenticeship programme, subject to attending an Apprenticeship Preparation Training Session here at Lancaster and Morecambe College.
