Duties will include:

  • Answering the telephone, liaison with internal and external individuals and agencies, taking messages and welcoming visitors
  • Ensuring incoming and outgoing post is dealt with
  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing email
  • Typing letters, documentation, minutes and maintaining paperwork
  • Administrative contribution to recruitment and selection, induction and training
  • Dealing with faxes – incoming/outgoing
  • Photocopying
  • Other miscellaneous administrative tasks that contribute to IAS
  • Attending regular supervision sessions/team meetings as agreed
  • Supporting the day to day running of the office
  • Ensuring that confidentiality is respected at all times
  • Assistance to other administrative staff where necessary or appropriate
  • Carrying out the above duties and any other duties commensurate with the responsibilities of the post which may be reasonably required, in a manner which actively supports and promotes the aims and objectives of IAS

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  •  Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel, Email and Internet
  • Accurate and fast word processing skills
  • Preferred work experience in an office environment but not essential
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good telephone manner
