Production and Logistics Apprentice RGH Rubber & Plastics Ltd

Reporting to the Production Supervisory team, initially the role will be split between the Logistics & Production Departments assisting where possible with materials & goods handling plus the operation of Production machinery. The training plan will be discussed with the candidate and tailored to their & the company needs.

  • This will include Goods in & Despatch procedures (which will involve folk-lift driving, un-loading / loading lorries, booking in materials / purchase orders, the locating / re-locating of stock within warehouses & FedEx Courier Despatch routine)
  • The picking of stock / raw materials / tooling for the Production Department to ensure maximum production efficiency
  • The storage & stock checking / control of raw materials, work in progress & finished goods
  • Be able to perform all Business Management Software “EFACS” operations associated with these tasks
  • Achieve a good working knowledge of the various material types
  • Understand the operating procedures, maintenance of machines & all health & safety aspects associated with the production department
  • Be able to perform all Business Management Software “EFACS” operations associated with production department including the completing of work sheets & picking lists
  • Provide up to date / corrective information to Sales team to ensure correct costings are achieved

Candidate to be made aware of :

  • Factory is located on an industrial estate in a slightly remote location
  • The factory has no canteen & is an approx. 15 minute walk away from the town centre
  • The work force is multi-national & has a 4 / 25, female / male split
  • Commute to work: RGH has adequate parking but no train station; buses from Braintree and Chelmsford are easy

For the automotive industry, they supply parts into Land-rover, Jaguar, Lotus, Honda, Mini and Toyota. For the Point of Sale industry they supply parts into Tesco, Boots, The Range, Pound-Land and Asda to name a few. RGH mainly sell Business to Business and do not sell to the public.
