Day to Day

  • Time and motion studies – I.e., take a task, break it down and time people doing it a few different times and find the average of how long the job should take. Use the result of this to create a standard of how quick a job should take to get done and how efficient it is. In order to make production smoother and the cost to come down and make work efficient
  • Develop, implement and maintain departmental efficiency calculations
  • Generate monthly Overall Equipment Efficiency, KPI’s and Other performance-based reports
  • Hand the standard to the department management to keep on track and keep the work efficient and compare best working standards
  • Look at how long a job takes and the best way to do it in the time you have available. Assist and take part in Continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma activities and Projects
  • Lean Six Stigma (internal system that is used to reduce waste). Looking at where the company waste costs are and how to reduce the cost. This is common by product of Industrial Engineering 
  • Improving business techniques, finding solutions to benefit the company.  The successful apprentice should be confident and comfortable to ask questions as to why a production is delivered in a certain way and how improvements can be made. This will develop over time as your apprenticeship progresses
  • Use of computer software as Microsoft package (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.), SAP and other IE software i.e. data-logging software
  • Flexibility, the employee may be deployed in other departments where there is need for extra labour or to provide cover for sickness and holidays
  • The Successful apprentice will receive training that will be provided by Amaan Group and The Growth Company to support you in the role
