Childrensworld is a small group of family focused nurseries based in Shropshire and Telford since 2000.

Childrensworld Newport nursery is 1 of 3 nurseries, a purpose built nursery which opened in May 2019, with excellent facilities for both children and staff.

With expanding numbers we are now looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our team.

The Role will include;

  • Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding.
  • To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children.
  • To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery.
  • To be aware of the nurseries confidentiality policy.
  • Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
  • To input and contribute to ideas regarding implementation of policies and procedures such as Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Contribute to good standards of hygiene and cleanliness in Nursery.
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be determined by the trainee's supervisor from time to time.
  • The trainee's duties must at all times be carried out in compliance with Childrensworld Equal Opportunities policy.
  • Look upon the nursery as a "whole" where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children.
  • To ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
  • To be aware of the high profile of Childrensworld and to uphold its standards at all times.
  • To be aware of all emergency and fire evacuation procedures.
  • To be aware of sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • To understand that as part of training you will be required to move to other parts of the nursery.
  • To be flexible in hours and duties in order to meet the needs and requirements of Childrensworld

Desired qualifications

The successful candidate must have GCSE 4/C or above in both maths and English.

It is likely to become a permanent position upon successful completion of the apprenticeship

Things to consider

The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £4.30 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year.

Full Enhance Security checks are mandatory for this role.

About the employer


ChildrensWorld Newport is a purpose-built nursery on the edge of the Mere Park Garden Centre, where we opened the nursery in May 2019. We have our own entrance off the A518 Stafford Road into the separate nursery grounds, with lots of parent parking.

The nursery has 2 baby rooms, a toddler room, and a preschool room, each with direct access leading to our large outdoor space laid with all-weather artificial grass.
