This position is to help with the day to day running of the café and Water Gardens including helping with weddings and functions.
The applicant will assist with:
- Front of house duties including, serving and clearing tables
- Taking food orders
- Interacting with the customers
- Assisting with the smooth running of weddings and functions
- Ideally help with posting updates on social media
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
- Should have an interest in cooking and baking, some hospitality experience would be nice but not essential as training will be given
- Computer literate and an understanding of social media
Personal qualities
- A talkative and friendly attitude
- Able to prioritise work and meet deadlines
Desired qualifications
- Maths and English GCSE level 4/C
Future prospects
Ideally the right apprentice will be trained up to a managerial position within the business and the prospect of progression to a higher level apprenticeship qualification.
Things to consider
From 1st April 2021, the National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £4.30 per hour. This rises annually as set by government. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of an Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
Training to be provided by Upwey Wishing Well with assistance of the Weymouth College Apprenticeship Training Co-ordinator, the apprentice will not be required to attend college one day a week but may be required to attend maths and English Functional skills classes depending on the applicants qualifications achieved.
