Apprentice Veterinary Business Administrator Lower House Equine Clinic Llp
Provide all general administrative duties in our veterinary office, which includes customer service, data entry, filing, scanning, typing letters, taking payments etc.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Level 3 (A level)
With training: Triaging veterinary calls, planning the vets diary along with the other team members, dealing with queries, processing invoices, typing referral letters via dictation
Progressing to: Taking responsibility of imputing and monitoring our in-patient and surgical work which includes daily liaisons and discussion with our head nurse. Preparing paperwork and files for in patient admittance and day clinic procedures. Typing clinical notes for our in-patients
Imputing and monitoring our client’s health plan package, ensuring each patients is receiving the correct products and procedures. Formulating data around this
Following and helping to adhere to RCVS protocols relating to our practice standards policy, to include temperature control, stock control and record keeping, health and safety and risk assessment etc.
Requirements and prospects
- Previous equine experience
- Knowledge and use of programs such as word, excel etc
- Strong customer service skills

- Hard working and reliable
- Background in horses is strongly recommended
GCSE or equivalent maths and English Grade C/4 or above.
If the successful candidate does not have GCSE’s at grade4/C or above they will be required to complete Functional Skills in maths and English at level 2 by attending tutorials at County Training Oswestry.

Things to consider
The job may involve from time to time some horse handling but is predominantly office based. We are a rural based business and therefore transport is essential, there is not a bus stop within walking distance.

Work place assessment with one of County Training’s highly experienced workplace Assessors, including as an example, completion of assignments, project, and observation of workplace activities.

There is also a requirement for you to keep an off the job log which is an important part of your Apprenticeship Programme.
