Duties will include:

  • The ideal candidate will be expected to work alongside qualified staff members creating graphic and tinting applications to different surfaces
  • You will be expected to listen to instructions and carry out duties asked of you
  • To begin with, you will spend much of your time learning about the basics and the materials used
  • Once you become a little more experienced you will pick up a range of additional duties

Desired skills

For this position you will need a keen attention to detail and pride in your work. As you will be dealing with graphics, you must have good spelling and be very accurate.

Personal qualities

You must be a strong candidate for this role who is able to listen to instructions, put in a hard days work and adapt to different working environments. You must also have strong communication skills as you will be dealing with customers and could be also be in commercial settings.

 

Desired qualifications

A basic knowledge of English and maths is required for this position with GCSE grades of A-E.

Future prospects

On completion of your level 2 apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to progress to a level 3 to further your career.

The Apprenticeship in Fenestration Installation consists of:

  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Fenestration Installation
  • Level 2 Certificate in Glass Related Operations
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (Level 1)
  • Construction Skills Health, Safety and Environment test - CSCS Test
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Certified Health and Safety Course
  • Internet Safety/Safeguarding

Most aspects of your training will be delivered on-site with the employer, and you will have regular site visits every six to eight weeks from your designated assessor, who will monitor your progress throughout your apprenticeship programme.

Skills Group will also support you to achieve Emergency First Aid and a Health and Safety Certificate, along with Internet Safety and Safeguarding.

You will also be supported by Skills Group to complete your CSCS online test, to achieve your CSCS Card which enables you to carry out site work, if required.
